Seriously? The Sequel

It’s one thing when people you go out of their way to demonstrate random acts of kindness. But when random strangers take on this movement, I’m starting to think that maybe God isn’t so mean sometimes. Sometimes.

Situation 1: I had plans to have dinner in the city (SF for the non-Cali locals) and had to parallel park my car on the left side of a downhill road. I did a decent job but felt self conscience and decided to re-park. Well, I rear ended the parked car in front of me – and the driver was still in it. What did he do? While I was painstakingly thinking about the hassle this would cause me, he gets out of the car, checks is car, then my car. Then he proceeds to say ‘don’t worry about it. I just got this car yesterday, no big deal,’ as if he was an old friend. Granted the car was no BMW, but he could have made my evening and future few weeks full of intolerable paperwork and insurance conversations. Wow. I proceeded to dinner dumbfounded.

Situation 2: I just left a concert at the HP Pavillion in downtown San Jose and had parked my car on a side street. In order to get to my car, there was this pedestrian parkway by a popular restaurant. Well, it’s late at night, I’m trying to get to my car, and the parkway is closed. I decide to walk to the next restaurant to see if they have an exit on the other side of the building. I walk into the Fireside Grill, looked like more of a bar and the bartender says that their exit is only for emergencies. Without stuttering, she asked if I needed someone to walk me to my car. Intantly, she tells the bouncer and he walks me to my car! I never even bought a drink from the place, I was merely looking for a safe way to get to my car. So, if you’re even in San Jose, please have a drink at the Fireside Grill.

Sometimes, it's about the little things.
